Stewardship is a churchy word for the “the careful and responsible management of the potential of all that is entrusted to your care”.  Herndon UMC has some amazing potential with a very talented church family, a terrific community, and a wonderful facility.  Stewardship involves all of our resources--our time, our talents and our treasure.  This year we are talking about dreams and how dreams can be shared.

There are opportunities year-round to get involved.  If you feel called to get more engaged, please talk to a staff member or lay leader.  They will help you find a spot in need of your talents.  If you see someone doing something and want to lend a hand, please do.  We are a community that supports and helps one another.

For the financial part, there is information available in the 2019 Stewardship brochure (linked here) about where we are this year and what we are looking towards for the budget in 2020.  You can also find information about the Preserve, Strengthen, Grow capital campaign that is ending this year and about our Endowment Fund, which we hope to grow to provide income in the future.

Everyone is asked to complete an estimate of giving.  This is a show of your commitment to the missions and ministries of Herndon UMC.  Making this kind of commitment helps our leaders plan for the coming year.  There will be cards handed out in worship on the weekend of November 16, a copy is in each Stewardship brochure, or you may complete your estimate of giving electronically.  To fill it out online, go to Estimate of Giving 2020.
