A seasoned pastor with more than forty years of experience in parish ministry, Larry is well known among his colleagues as a skilled preacher, an effective listener, and a caring pastor.

A graduate of Yale Divinity School, Larry served as the Associate Pastor of Fairlington UMC and the Pastor of Floris UMC (Arlington District), Huguenot UMC (Richmond District), Duncan Memorial UMC (Ashland District), and Cherrydale UMC (Arlington District), before retiring this summer after serving nine years as the Senior Pastor of Burke UMC (Alexandria District). During his career in pastoral ministry, Larry has designed and led “Communication Skills” workshops for engaged couples, taught “Effective Relationship Building” classes for adults, and offered cross-cultural service and learning experiences in Kenya, Mozambique, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. Larry has served as an adjunct faculty member at Wesley Theological Seminary and earned dual certifications as a licensed and accredited personal coach.

As the part-time Minister of Visitation for Herndon UMC, Larry will assist with hospital visitation and the pastoral care of homebound members and members dealing with illness, recovery, and recent loss.
