While many were celebrating the end of the school year and start to the summer, 6 adult leaders (including 4 college kids) and 14 High Schoolers from Herndon UMC ventured to Philadelphia, PA for a week of service. Besides running up and down the “Rocky” steps, they enjoyed opening their hearts to love of the Lord and the movement of the Spirit while working with the community in addressing the food insecurity issues faced by many low income families, children and seniors. Not only was it a faith filled week, it was quite enlightening to be a part of urban garden initiatives and to join hands with so people within the community that have hearts for serving.
