  • Christmas Greens -- Sale Starts Dec 12

    The UMW Mary Martha Circle will begin selling their greenery arrangements on Tuesday, December 12. The "Greenery Arrangements" are a lovely, 40-year Herndon UMC tradition. Greens will be on sale all week during the Upward Basketball practices, after Saturday's worship service, and (if any are left) before and after both services on

  • Christmas Eve Luminaries -- Help Wanted

    The Youth Group is planning to set out luminaries this year for Christmas Eve again this year. Volunteers are needed to help set out (4pm) and cleanup the luminaries (11pm) and donations of clean plastic water, juice or milk jugs can be left outside Sheri's office.

  • Comfort Cases - Jun 2018

    Herndon UMC's Neighbors in Need Ministry is looking forward to supporting a new mission. The beneficiary is Comfort Cases. Comfort Cases provides critical support to children in crisis, whether they are entering the foster care system, removed from a home for allegations of abuse, facing homelessness, or temporarily displaced for emergencies

  • Angel Tree -- through Dec 15

    Our Angel Tree will go up in early December.  Just like last year, the angels will support the LINK Holiday Toy distribution which is hosted at Herndon UMC.  We will be collecting the presents through Friday, December 15.  Please return presents unwrapped. This year LINK has a record number of families registered for the holiday distributions

  • Dranesville ES Backpack Program

    The Backpack Program helps provide food to kids who may not get regular meals over the weekend.  Each identified child is given a ziploc bag containing meals and snacks to help them get through the weekend and hopefully come back to school ready to learn on Monday.

    Herndon UMC is again participating in the North County Hypothermia Prevention (NCHP) Program which is operated by Cornerstones in Reston. It is one of four hypothermia prevention sites in Fairfax County that serves a hot meal and offers a warm shelter every night for 30 men or women from December 1 through March 31, regardless of the

    Sunday morning hospitality encourages those attending either worship to hang around a bit longer and allows deeper relationships to develop.  To be the warm and welcoming community, that we like to think we are, requires help from our Herndon UMC family.
