Meets Wednesdays from 5-6 pm from September through May.
This youth choir (for youth in grades 7 to 12) covers a wide variety of musical styles ranging from contemporary to classical, and provides vocal music on a monthly basis for the Sanctuary (Traditional) services. Youth get the opportunity to be leaders in worship through singing introits, anthems, and closing responses. Members gain valuable ensemble experience both in singing alone as a youth choir and also in joining in larger ensembles with members of the adult Wesley Choir and One Accord children’s choir. Sing Hosanna performs in both the Christmas GIFT dinner concert and the Spring Missions concert as well. The group travels to Richmond each November to participate in the Youth Choir JAM, a choral festival joining 175 youth voices to perform challenging pieces under the direction of renowned clinicians. While youth choir members grow in musicianship during rehearsals, time is also devoted each week to spiritual growth through devotions, prayer, and discussion of lyrics and the meaning behind the music.
The group is directed by Shannon Wise, Director of Liturgical Music.
