Neighbors in Need will once again be providing meals for the Fairfax County North County Emergency Hypothermia Shelter in Reston. As you know weather in this area can be very difficult to forecast. So far we are below average temperatures and much snow is predicted to come.

The folks who stay at the emergency shelter truly appreciate our efforts. Herndon UMC Neighbors in Need prides itself in providing well balanced, healthy, warm meals for those in need. Each time Beth and Becky, with groups of volunteers, have gone to serve food, they are thanked and told how much they enjoy our healthy home cooked meals, as well as fact that we offer lots of vegetables.

Our meals this year are:
December 16 and 30
January 13 and 27
February 10 and 24
March 10 and 24

In order for us to provide these wonderful meals your help is needed in a variety of ways - from supplying the ingredients, cooking the meals and then serving the meals at the shelter. Any ages are invited to participate in the preparation of the meals; but shelter regulations require servers to be 18 or over.

Please sign up to donate or to help prepare or serve.
