Herndon UMC’s women are delighted to invite everyone to this special hybrid event on
Saturday, June 4 from 9-11 am in the Herndon UMC Sanctuary and on Zoom
Enjoy your breakfast at home or coffee at Herndon UMC while meeting three amazing women who serve as Deaconesses in the United States. Listen to their stories about the missions and ministries in which they are involved.
The three guest deaconesses are:
- Selena Ruth Smith, a firefighter in South Carolina, who inspects churches for fire hazards and educates communities of the dangers of fire.
- Monica Bartley, serving in New York City as an advocate for disability laws and regulations to create inclusion in community; and
- Imelda De Guzman-De Los Santos serving in Chesapeake Bay, VA as the Nurture Ministries Coordinator of the Resurrection United Methodist Church.
The Deaconesses will be speaking via Zoom from their home areas. You may join the presentation via Zoom from wherever you are or in the Herndon UMC Sanctuary with other friends. The Zoom link will be sent to you via email so it is important to register.
REGISTER TODAY! Registration is required for both zoom and in-person. Registration closes on May 31.
THIS EVENT IS FREE! Freewill donations will be collected. 100% of the donations for this event will go to support the deaconesses and their ministries.
