Our personal lives are not the only aspect of a spiritually disciplined life. How might we shape our corporate life to follow Jesus? Foster reminds us that acts of confession, worship, celebration, and guidance are key to developing a corporately disciplined life. In the book of James, the closing words point to the importance of some of these elements. How might we see our collective responsibility to live these disciplines out in the community?
There will be TWO worship services available this weekend.
There will be an IN-PERSON worship service held outside on the field by the Sanctuary at 8:30 am. You are asked to complete the Worship Participant Acknowledgement form if you will be attending this service. Please bring your own chair, wear a mask, and maintain social distancing between family groups. We will join in Holy Communion, and individual prepackaged elements will be available at the service. There is a bulletin with liturgy and lyrics, links, announcements, and information for this service. If you would like a printed copy, please bring it with you to the service.
There will also be a DIGITAL worship service premiering at 10 am here on the website, on the Herndon UMC YouTube channel, and on Herndon UMC’s Facebook page. As always, you are encouraged to add your voice to prayers and songs and stand as you are able. We will join in Holy Communion and you should gather elements for yourself before worship. There is a bulletin to help you experience worship. It includes the week’s announcements, links, ongoing prayer concerns, and the order of worship. Say hello in the chat. The chat on YouTube opens at 9:30 am; Facebook’s chat opens when the video begins.
Please let us know you are worshiping with us, who is there worshiping with you, and where you are. This can also be done by email to email@example.com. Anyone new or looking to get more connected or learn more about Herndon UMC is invited to email firstname.lastname@example.org or complete this online form. We would love to hear from you!
