God’s Love is Real. God’s Love is Active. God’s Love is for Everyone.

September 12 Worship – Together (Week 1): Together with Purpose

Sep 7, 2021 | Worship

You are invited into this worship experience for the week of Sunday, Sept 12.

This week at Herndon UMC is our Fall Kick-Off including our new fall schedule, which includes traditional worship in the Sanctuary at 9:30am, our modern, unplugged worship at 11:00am in the Fellowship Hall and Relax and Renew, a traditional, casual worship in the sanctuary at 5:00pm. The 9:30 worship will be livestreamed on YouTube and herndonumc.org.

On March 12, 2020, life came to a screeching halt. The COVID-19 pandemic, already raging throughout the world, necessitated a nation-wide shutdown. Schools, businesses, and churches had to pivot quickly into a primarily digital world that we have been occupying for 18 months since. As we kickoff the fall of 2021, we are doing so more and more together. Some of our togetherness is rooted in familiarity. Our actions and behaviors mimic the “time before.”  In other ways, our togetherness feels very different. Perhaps we are in new places, new relationships, or new identities than what we knew before. In this four-week sermon series, we will think about some of the Scriptural hallmarks for togetherness and why community, in similar and different formats, is so important in a season like this.

No matter where you worship from, you are encouraged to add your voice to prayers and songs and stand as you are able.  There is a Bulletin to help you experience worship.  It includes links and information to help you be connected at Herndon UMC along with the order of worship for all three services.

Nursery care is available for infants and young children during the Sunday worship services.  If you have questions about the Nursery, contact mallory@herndonumc.org.

As always, we want to stay connected and are a community of prayer.  Glory sightings and prayer concerns may be shared by text, in the chat, through this online form, or at any time by email to prayerchain@herndonumc.org.

If you are new or looking to get more connected or learn more about Herndon UMC, please email welcome@herndonumc.org or complete this online form.  You are welcome here and we would love to grow in a Spirit-filled relationship with you.
